Transfer Station

631-788-5515

The Transfer Station is a gated facility accessed from Town Road. On the upper level, users deposit household trash (MSW) and corrugated cardboard into compactor hoppers. On the lower level, users deposit paper and bottles & can into the designated containers from elevated walkways. Full containers are transported to mainland Connecticut: household trash (MSW) goes to a Waste to Energy (WTE) plant and cardboard, paper, and bottles & cans go to a recycling facility.
